Maritime authority

NORMAM-222/DPC as a reference.

Commercial diving in Brazil is guided by the Maritime Authority Standards for Commercial Diving, published by the Brazilian Navy’s Directorate of Ports and Coasts.

Contractor qualification should consider company registration, team qualifications and documentation applicable to the scope, as well as local maritime authority requirements.

View the standard on the Brazilian Navy website (Portuguese)

Safety and acceptance criteria in planning.

The technical proposal should record scope limitations, access conditions, operational constraints, stop-work criteria and acceptance criteria. Selecting methods requires an assessment of actual structural conditions.

Citing a standard does not replace evidence of company compliance or constitute approval by the Brazilian Navy.
